don’t get me wrong… this can be a good experience if you’re out for a nice, fancier kind of movie night.

i personally am happy with a laurelhurst setup of pizza and beer, so this was definitely a different kind of experience for me. i guess it would occasionally be nice to have something different from the typical independent cinema experience.

the pros: variety and change from the usual. living room theaters has it all…cocktail drinks, good wine, espresso drinks, and ‘nicer’ foods (paninis, crepes, and assorted other foods borrowing from various cuisines).

the cons: the price. you’re already paying $9 for admission (and matinee price is still $7). and then all the food/drink items are at least a few dollars overpriced.

it’s not a total ripoff in that the food isn’t bad… but i personally would rather spend $40+ on a really good meal somewhere.

if you go and want food, go 30 minutes earlier than your movie starts so that you can either eat in the lounge or get your food brought to you in the theater before the movie actually begins.

also worth noting…. there is something to be said for the selection of films here. they make great choices of independent, foreign, and classic movies that probably won’t be shown at any of the other indie, locally owned theaters in town.
