Queen of Sheba

served on a mass of injera bread on a huge dish, the communal-style eating is, for me, a highlight of ethiopian cuisine

the food was great, but the names of the dishes we had escape me (their website needs a menu on it!)

the lemon chicken (first of the chicken dishes listed) was pretty phenomenal..very rich and spicy sauce. i wasn’t impressed with the lamb dish (the first one listed on the menu, the not spicy one)…the flavor was great but the meat itself was tough and chewy.

i think next time i’ll explore the veggie options (which are wonderful, according to friends who frequent queen of sheba)

i preferred their honey wine to the honey wines/meads i’ve had at other establishments… and it’s perfect for calming the heat of spicier dishes

the only downside was the atmosphere… we were seated in a dark corner of a side room, which wouldn’t have been as nice as the more open dining area… overall, i find the decor and ambiance a little lacking. but the food is definitely worth going back for.
