Tabla Mediterranean Bistro focuses on adding a modern twist to authentic Mediterranean specialties from regions such as Spain, France, northern Africa, and Italy.
The Mediterranean fusion restaurant stemmed from co-founder Adam Berger’s travels in Italy where he spent years in the kitchen learning how to create their renowned cuisines, including the art of handcrafting fresh pasta daily utilizing generation old techniques.
Adam was inspired by how the menus of quaint Tuscan restaurants rotated frequently, creating dishes that highlighted the freshest local ingredients of each season.
Tabla’s menu is modeled after this concept, providing not only classically innovative dishes filled with fresh ingredients, but also a selection of rotating regional specialties. While a few favorites stay constant, the seasonally focused menu allows for Tabla and its guests to continually expand their culinary knowledge and travel through Europe’s culinary world, without ever leaving Portland.

really positive dining experience here… great service and food, so well worth the prices which are a bit higher than i would usually indulge…. still, for fine dining it’s reasonable with most entrees $18 or less, and the portions are a great size…
selections for the evening:
duck pate - quite the favorite as far as appetizers here go. not something i would normally eat, surely, but it was pretty amazingly tasty.
for entrees we had the morrocan stew and the house made pappardelle with bison… the meats in these dishes were braised and ridiculously tender and flavorful… the seasoning was done well: eclectic and exotic without being overpowering
dessert was a delectable panna cotta, a sort of custard with amaretto-soaked cherries
other mentionables:
happy hour food and drink specials from 5:00 to 6:30
house-made pastas;
2 local beers on tap… as well as pbr?!
